Festival
During August each year St John's goes into Festival mode. We welcome visitors from all over the world to our Sunday services and enjoy a wide range of guest preachers. The music too is more glorious than ever with ‘big' settings at Matins, Eucharist and Evensong – sometimes involving orchestral ensembles.All this runs parallel to our own Festival of Spirituality and Peace. This means there are many extra midweek events, including Interfaith Prayer. On weekdays the church is open each evening at 9.30pm for Sacred Space – an opportunity for revellers to drop in for a few minutes or the full hour to enjoy the beauty of the building at night time, live music and silence.
The Sunday music programme and the Festival of Spirituality and Peace programme are available from the end of June each year.
