Creative Space

Creative Space is responsible for developing a programme of outreach events: concerts, art exhibitions, civic events, discussions, murals, and the Festival of Spirituality and Peace.

We work in collaboration with a similar group in St Georges' West, a member of West End Churches Together (WECT) and the organisations on the Terrace.

Ways Truthes and Lives

A Christian and a Muslim in conversation about the Path to God

Join us for a special meeting of two men well-versed in their respective faiths, well placed to face one another in friendly dialogue. Christians and Muslims share the belief that life has a purpose, and that this purpose is centred upon Almighty God. But what is the path to reach him, and be saved from ourselves and our sins?

Jesus is quoted in John's Gospel as saying, "I am the way, the truth and the life..." - this event will touch on both Christianity's and Islam's interpretation of the way to God, the search for truth, and how to understand this life and the life hereafter.

Sunday 18th February 2007, 3.15 for 3.30pm
St. John's Church (corner of Princes St./Lothian Rd.)
Admission free. All welcome.

Rev. JOHN CONWAY is Rector of St. Martin's Church in Dalry, Edinburgh, as well as Director of Studies for trainee ministers in the Scottish Episcopal Church.

IDRIS TAWFIQ joins us specially from Cairo, where he works as a writer and educator. Formerly a Catholic priest and RE teacher in various UK schools, he became a Muslim in 2001 and has since worked to explain Islam, spirituality and the Arab world in an accessible way. www.idristawfiq
