Earth be Glad Resources
Every group in St John's has been asked to take part in Earth be Glad, beyond the month of Creationtide in which it began. This page provides material to help groups find ideas and information to help them do this. Please if you've used the resources and what you thought of them.
Earth be Glad leaflet
The Earth be Glad leaflet, which was launched at the conference, aims to link prayer and action for creation in the daily life of the individual Christian. It contains an A3 poster with practical ideas for reducing your environmental footprint; personal prayer and praise resources; and pointers to find out more.
Packs of leaflets may be ordered from The Cornerstone Bookshop at:
6 for 20
10 for 50
18 for 100
50 for 300
(not including postage and packing)
Articles
We've learnt about the natural world, we've thought about its place in God's plan, we know the threats that it is facing. But what can we do about it? What makes the environment more than just another 'issue' is that you and I can make a difference ourselves, not just by giving money or writing letters or reinvesting our money, but in almost everything we do. St John's magazine Cornerstone is publishing a series of articles on how you can witness to a faith which leads the creation in praise, in different aspects of their lives. You are welcome to use the material elsewhere but please if you have done so and please acknowledge the source.
Eco-Congregation
Eco-Congregation provides modules structured around church life. They are toolkits full of ideas, examples, and information. The modules fall into four groups. St John's has already completed the first one, although you might find it useful to use in your group. To gain an Eco-Congregation award, a church must do something in each of the three other groups. You may borrow the modules from Eleanor Todd, or click on the links below to download them from the Eco-Congregegation site.
Make sure you read the before you print them.
