Ordinary Time

The stretch from Trinity Sunday, the Sunday after Pentecost through to the Feast of All Saints on 1st November is known as Ordinary Time. It is a fallow time in the church year during which we focus on growth in our faith.

The period includes August which, in Edinburgh, is anything but ordinary! August in Edinburgh is festival time and St John's is home and host to Just Festival. We enjoy especially rich worship during this period and details can be found at the festival's own website  and are usually posted on our homepage. You will also find details on the choir's own website.

September at St John's is kept as Creationtide with a special focus on the environment - please see our separate pages on this.
